Costs:
Time: Could take some time. Possibly one to two days.
Money: Free if using free (or trial) software.
Best time to do:
When your wife is on a trip or away for a day or two or more. When you are home alone and not embarrassed to be goofy on camera for your wife who, by the way, knows you are goofy anyway.
Is best with:
Knowing you and your wife's "song".
The Act:
There is a way you can download the audio of a YouTube video for use with some kind of video editing software. I am not sure of the legality of it all, but if you and your wife are the only ones going to see the video anyway... It is really up to you how you get music.
Music videos are fun to do. It is a little difficult because if you decide to do some lip syncing like real music videos you will have to literally sync your video to the music. When I did my first music video I started out by showing myself writing the lyrics in a notebook. As if I was writing the song and thinking of the lyrics. (The song was She's Everything by Brad Paisley.) Then I just did some goofy guitar playing and myself singing the chorus. All this was done in two rooms of my home. I avoided a lot of lip syncing issues by only doing one or two lines and the rest just silly music video things. The chorus just happened to work out perfect.
I did not use a "Karaoke" version of the song because I tried and it was immediately evident that I can not sing. The version I was going to use had backup vocals and it is certain that our voices did not jive. However, that is something you can do if you don't mind it sounding terrible or if you can sing. Try it and see how it turns out.
One more thing. Don't be embarrassed. Be excellent.

Medium
